VOCAL MAGIC FAQ (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)

“It’s too much money right now.”

*I have been there. I totally get it. If the budget just isn’t there right now, that’s fine. Can you create a plan to save so that you can invest in reaching your singing goals within a year, instead of just continuing to put it off until ‘someday’? Much like time, only you can decide what you prioritize in deciding where to put your money.

HOWEVER
*If joining Vocal Magic is a full body YES for you, and you think you can pull it off, but are thinking that it’s not going to be comfortable:
If there’s only one thing I know for certain in this world, it’s that BIG THINGS happen in a space of uncomfortability.

This program is not cheap, and it’s designed that way. I designed it so that you would have a BIG motivation to take some freaking action toward your voice goals, instead of just saying ‘someday I’ll take some voice lessons…’.

Give yourself a gift for once, you perfectionist people pleaser you!

I know you are… if you’re here you’re more than likely dealing with this feeling that to spend time and money on yourself would be ‘irresponsible’ because you have to take care of everyone else’s needs before your own.

Guess what? Their needs are always gonna be there, so if you wait until you have space for your own needs… well, you’re never gonna get to that place.

I can say this from hard-earned experience: there will ALWAYS another reason to not do this for yourself. Waiting and waiting for the right time is so much more painful than the uncomfortable feeling you’re imagining by joining this program. The question is, are you finally going to start listening to that voice inside you that longs to sing, or continue to let it be drowned out by the never-ending voice that says you’re being ‘selfish’?

Could you be a little uncomfortable for 8 months so that you can skip the next 10 years of desperation?

“How Time-consuming is the Program?”

This program will get you in the practice of allowing yourself to prioritize and speak up for yourself and your needs. You may just start saying yes to yourself more in other areas of your life. In my life, this has led to MORE time and freedom more times than I can count. 15 minutes a day is all you need to make this happen.

I’ll let my previous Vocal Magic Student and Busy Entrepreneur Ruby tell you what she thought:

“Yes, that’s been a large challenge for me… but still all worth the while. It’s actually an aspect of self care. Entrepreneurs typically can’t stop brainstorming and creating so relaxing is often an activity still.

It came down to being able to do both group and solo lessons. Since I have performed in front of people before, I actually wasn’t looking to strengthen that skill immediately…BUT, this was affordable enough that it allows me to have 6 vocal lessons a month. I thought that there’s no way I won’t improve if I am doing that many.” -Ruby

Debbie is another Vocal Magic Student:
“The time spent [is] well worth it, because it's a learning experience that is affordable. Within the hour and a half, you're exposed to learning about the mechanics of the voice and how it works in tandem with the rest of the body. (I find that fascinating!)  You're also in a safe space with a support system to express hindrances or anxieties relative to performing.  You can get out of it what you put into it...you can totally make it your own.” -Debbie

*Artists need time to become who they are, each step takes time for integration. But university degrees take 2-4 years to complete, and you come out with an education that is not individualized to your needs, with very little 1:1 time with your instructors.

We can make these big changes in your voice in 6 months to a year. I’m not promising miracles, just telling you what my students have experienced.

How much pain will it cause you to wait another 4-10 years desperate and dreaming of feeling like a singer, trusting and sharing your voice?

How much more time do you want to keep putting off your dreams?

I already sing in front of other people, where is there to grow?

*Do you feel like every single note is easy? Do you have strain or lose your voice from over-singing?

*Do you have songs you have put in the back of your book forever with no hope of singing them?

*Do you have dreams of singing in bigger rooms, packed with people who are clamoring to see you perform? Do you have dreams of singing and collaborating with BIG names?

*There is ALWAYS something to improve on. These are the areas we are working on in Vocal Magic. If you're not open to growing past where you are, you may not be a fit for this program.

If I put my voice out there, then people will criticize me.
I need to work harder to be a better singer first.

*This program is designed to turn you into a singer that shares their voice even as people criticize you. Because you can't not share your voice. And while you are becoming more resilient, the same method will make you a stronger singer, leading to a more easier sound.

Audiences pick up on struggle, they're not usually judging based on perfection. They want to hear the real you, allowing your real voice to shine. It's the resistance and the self-judgment that people pick up on. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Imagine if Bob Dylan waited to share his iconic music until he was a better singer. If Taylor Swift didn't wait until she was a perfect performer to pitch herself to labels.
People don't want your perfection- they want your story. The real you, as you are now.

*Voice training is brain training - we don't need to put more force behind your voice, or spend more time to get bigger gains, like lifting weights at the gym. Yes, practice is super important, but working the muscles is only a small part of growing as a powerfully potent singer. Your real work comes from focusing on how to actually coordinate the vocal mechanism with your brain - and how to make singing the easiest thing in the world.

We're aiming towards singing being easier and more efficient, not working harder.
